This talk is meant to be an overview of the current framework of different nonlocal works revolving around nonlocal gradient, in collaboration with authors José C. Bellido, Carolin Kreisbeck, Mikil Foss, Carlos Mora-Corral, Hidde Schönberger, Joshua Sitkar. Nonlocal models have increasingly been gaining popularity in the recent decades as they may be able to provide a framework for more general (or singular) phenomena, since they may not need to use classical derivatives. One of the most prominent example is that of peridynamics. In this framework we have combined the idea of peridynamics with problems based on a mathematical object, a gradient, into a nonlocal gradient computing only for the interactions up to a positive distance, the horizon, allowing us to address nonlinear nonlocal problems and providing a seemingly versatile framework.
