Sierra Solid Mechanics (Sierra/SM) is an engineering mechanics simulation code developed at Sandia National Laboratories, designed for modeling highly nonlinear large deformation mechanical events. During these complex simulations, analysts often seek the ability to modify their mesh dynamically to better capture the physics in regions experiencing significant deformations. In this presentation, we will showcase our latest advancements utilizing the in-core remeshing capability in Sierra. We will demonstrate how fields are smoothly transferred onto the newly generated mesh, ensuring a seamless user experience for analysts. Additionally, we will discuss the implementation of this feature in Sierra and explore the expanded problem space that this capability enables us to address.
