Lloyd's algorithm and quasi-uniform Voronoi tesselations for particle schemes

We discuss a recent particle method for solving the compressible Euler equations in two space dimensions due to Després. We prove that a Lloyd-method stabilises the movement of the tessellation over time. The proof uses tools from modern optimization theory. Joint work with B. Després.
